Low Priority

Why?

Well the channel changes names so often and gets misused so often idfk why not I guess lmfao, could be fun maybe.

I'd set this as a simple individual permission but that would also give individuals permissions to just outright delete the channel cause discord is fucking stupid.

Implementation

  1. This should require the Sailor role, otherwise known as our member role
  2. This should require the user executing the command ideally be in the channel it's being executed
  3. A cooldown for non-mods/admins of just 5m might be required.

Extra

  1. The channel should just reset to 'Working Corner' when the last person who set the channel name leaves OR when the channel empties

Command to adjust the name of the channel? Easy. 5 minute cooldown? Easy.

Have it automatically reset when channel empties?

No promises.

😉

I've thought on this for awhile and, in the end, I am unfortunately going to not do this request.

2 reasons:

  1. Discord's rate limit for editing channels is incredibly strict at 2 edits of any kind every 10 minutes. After that, the rate limit kicks in.
  2. This feature is self-proclaimed to be low priority and mostly for fun.

The upkeep required on this feature, which would exist to do a single thing for a single channel, doesn't make it worth it to do given the above 2 facts. Given you sometimes edit the channel name manually it would also not be able to handle that gracefully (as the effort to do that would also be too high, if possible) and could result in a regular hitting of the rate limit when I'd rather not poke the bear that is Discord.

I think a better solution is to start cracking down for real, especially when #75 is coded and enters production. 😈
